The top five spots in the female Aero Bowls National Rankings are currently occupied by Australian Jackaroo Squad members whilst in the male rankings; adopted Aussie Jeremy Henry extends his lead after another strong singles performance at the Cabramatta City Masters.

Raymond Terraces’ Natasha Scott still leads the race to be crowned Aero Bowls Female Bowler of the Year for a second consecutive year, though her Australian team mates are hot on her heels with seven of the current top eight players all part of the Australian Jackaroos Squad which are set to endure trials next week in New Zealand.

Scott sits 49 points ahead of St Johns Parks’ Anne Johns who won this year’s Golden Nugget singles and recently teamed up with front runner Natasha Scott to claim the $15,000 St Johns Park Diamond Triples.

Australian Indoor Champion Carla Odgers remains in third position whilst her Glasgow Commonwealth Games team mates Karen Murphy, Australian Indoor quarter-finalist and Golden Nugget runner-up, and Lynsey Clarke, Australian Indoor runner-up, round out the top five.

Carmen Andersen prevents the Australian’s having the clean sweep of the top eight sitting in sixth spot courtesy of her semi-final appearance at the Golden Nugget and second place at the Moama Ladies Prestige Pairs; however as an international player in her own right, Andersen assures the top of the female rankings is filled with the worlds best players.

Former Australian Singles Representative Kelsey Cottrell and current singles player Chloe Stewart’s tournament results at Moama and St Johns Park this month see’s the ladies jump into the top eight.

Australian Indoor Championship winner Jeremy Henry, a semi-finalist in the recent Cabramatta City Master Singles, has retained his spot on top of the Aero Bowls National Rankings for the second consecutive month.

Scott De Jongh was Australia’s number one when he won the Tweed Prestige Singles in July; however that was until Jeremy Henry’s second victory in an Australian Indoor Championship sent De Jongh back to second spot.

De Jongh’s quarter-final appearance in the City Master Singles, going down to eventual winner and former Australian representative Mathew Pietersen (sixth), De Jongh has retained his place behind the former Northern Ireland international for another month.

Australian Premier League stars Ryan Bester (Murray Steamers) and Kelvin Kerkow (XXXX Brisbane Gold) are currently sharing third position on 96 points, 30 points behind Henry.

The ‘Apple Isle’ recently held a rankings event that saw some of the world’s best players converge for the annual Mad Dog Singles.

Former Australian representative Lee Schraner claimed the title, Tasmanian great Mark Stochnetter was second, Australian Jackaroo Bec Van Asch was the best performed female in third spot, Anthony Burne finished forth and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Kelvin Kerkow rounds out the top five.
