Coaching

The Coaching Committee is responsible for:

  • Maintain records of all qualified lawn bowls coaches within WA including re-accrediting via a Bowls Australia database program
  • Organising coaching clinics throughout the metropolitan and country areas, as requested
  • Conducting Coach to Coach seminars
  • Submitting monthly articles to the Jack Hi magazine
  • Promoting the values of a qualified National Lawn Bowls coach and encourage them to further enhance their coaching to higher standards
  • Liaise with the Director of High Performance and assist at all times
  • Encourage bowlers with disabilities of all kinds to reach their full potential by offering advice and practical help 

PLEASE NOTE: As of May/June 2008 the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) in conjunction with the Bowls Australia Coaching Committee and the States and Territory Authorities, have implemented a new four tiered level of coaching to be conducted only by approved Bowls Australia Presenters and Assessors; who shall be appropriately remunerated and will conduct courses throughout the metropolitan areas and country zones as required. The four levels are: 1. Introductory Coach, 2. Club Coach, 3. Advanced Coach & 4. High Performance Coach. Information regarding these coaches is available from the Bowls WA Coaching Committee.
