Be Active Get on the Green

Be Active "Get on the Green", or Corporate / Community Bowls is a great way to have a go at lawn bowls is a relaxed social way.

Many clubs run  Be Active "Get on the Green" programs during the summer months, in some cases they run two separate Be Active GOTGcompetitions both before and after the Christmas break.  The main emphasis of these programs is FUN! Many people go along to make new friends and have an enjoyable game of bowls. In many cases friends get together to catch up, or local companies decide to enter a team.

  • You can join in the fun as an individual or as a team of four (preferred)
  • These programs are mainly run in the evening under-lights and start around 6.30
  • They usually run for about 5 or 6 weeks, but you are not obliged to attend every week
  • The cost of playing is very reasonable, normally around $5 or $6 per night
  • Many clubs have a sausage sizzle prior to the games
  • The clubs will look after you if you have never bowled before
  • The club provides all the equipment you need, including the bowls. All you need to bring is flat soled shoes, or you can bowl bare-foot

Bowls WA also runs a yearly Be Active "Get on the Green" Corporate Shield where corporate bowlers can compete against each other for fun and prize money.
