Bain and Noronha gain International Open spots The final day of PBA Qualifying was played out on the Indoor surface at Innaloo Sportsman’s Club and it was the Eastern Staters who came through to win the qualifying positions for the final event which was the International Open.
22yo New South Wales bowler Jesse Noronha who hails from the powerful Warilla club made short work of qualifying for the International Open by winning both matches in comfortable straight sets. In his final against the talent Steve Halmai he was forced to work for his first set but took full control in the second cruising into his first PBA qualifying trip in style.
Queensland qualifier John Bain who plays at Park Beach, NSW proved a thorn for the WA contingent first defeating Doubleview’s Kyle McIlroy in a tight match that went to a 3rd end tie breaker before also prevailing in another tie break encounter against South Perth’s Scott Walker in the qualifying final. Bain is no stranger to singles success having collected $12,000 winning the prestigious Park Beach Singles in 2012.
