Therese Hastings appointed WA’s NTC Coach
Former Australian Open Pairs champion appointed to lead WA’s National Training Centre Bowls Australia joins Bowls WA in announcing the appointment of Therese Hastings to the position of Western Australia’s National Training Centre (NTC) Coach.
Therese has extensive experience in coaching including holding Advanced Coach accreditation, Club Coach accreditation & also held a High Performance Coaching Scholarship, through the Department of Sport and Recreation, in 2010-11.
Well known to the bowls community in Western Australia as a current Board Member of Bowls WA, Therese’s on-green achievements include being a state representative since 2009 and capturing the coveted Australian Open title in the Pairs event on two occasions in 2007 and 2010 whilst also runner-up in 2011.
A former teacher, Therese boasts a long list of other major bowls tournament successes at state and national level but also brings a wealth of coaching experience to the role, particularly at junior level highlighted by being a state Under 18 selector from 2007 to 2008 and state Under 18 coach from 2009 to 2011.
Therese, who replaces Pieter Harris in the role, commences as the NTC Coach with Bowls WA on September 11.
