2013-17 Strategic Plan unveiled
The 2013-17 Bowls in Australia Strategic Plan was officially launched this week In a momentous occasion for the sport of bowls nationally, the 2013-17 Bowls in Australia Strategic Plan was officially unveiled on Monday, with the Presidents and CEO’s from each of the state associations and Board Directors of Bowls Australia in attendance for the occasion.
The plan, which was launched at the sport’s bi-annual State Consultative Body meeting in Melbourne on Monday, was developed in partnership between Bowls Australia and the State and Territory Associations.
The collaborative approach by the ten national and state governing bodies identifies 40 fundamental strategic initiatives across six strategic priority areas that they are committed to tackling conjointly over the next four-year period to achieve the mission of growing the sport of bowls and the vision of ‘bowls – the sport for life’.
“An extensive 16 months of consultation with stakeholders was undertaken in order to identify the focuses, priorities and commitments necessary to achieve the goals of the sport as a whole, which are articulated in this publication,”
Bowls Australia Chief Executive Officer Neil Dalrymple said. “The collaborative approach will ensure that the sport is well placed to arrest the membership decline and ensure the long-term viability of bowls in the Australian sporting landscape.”
Four Working Parties have been established and tasked with managing the key initiatives outlined within the document, with representatives recruited from Bowls Australia, State and Territory Associations and independent experts from within the sporting industry.
The Working Parties formed are:
· Capitation and Revenue Stream;
· National Bowls Brand;
· National Development Advisory Panel (continuing);
· Whole of Sport IT System (continuing).
