SBZ Inter League Round Robin Fours
at Emu Point Bowling Club12th, 13th and 14th of February The Southern Country Zone Inter League Round Robin Fours was held at Emu Point Bowling Club on 12th, 13th and 14th of February. Unfortunately, the first morning’s game had to be abandoned after rain forced play to stop several times. After lunch, the skies cleared and the weather was very kind to us for the rest of the competition.
The competition was close between the first and second placed teams but by beating Lower Great Southern by one shot in the overall in the second round, Great Southern had the edge and went on to win all their games. They were delighted to have their first win in 10 years! Their final tally was 8 points, 9 1/2 rink wins and 33 shots up with Lower Great Southern second on 6 points, 11 1/2 rink wins and 78 shots up. Third – Upper Great Southern, 4th – South Central Arunga , 5th – Central Stirling, and 6th – South East Coastal.
Many thanks to The Lower Great Southern League for running the event and to the Emu Point Bowling Club for providing the venue and delicious meals. Thanks also to Kevin Williams, Wal Mycock and Jan Jefferis for umpiring.
