Men’s Countryweek Thursday Action

Played Thursday 6th March 2014 The conclusion of the Crown Perth Men’s Countryweek is in sight with only a select few players left in line for a 2013-14 title.
Scott Edmonds (Karratha) has won his place into the final of the singles with a 21-17 win over Mark Simpson (Gingin). The other semi final will be played on Friday and sees Ken Preston (Wagin) v Michael Ford (Geraldton).
In the fours competition Merv Grigsby, Joe Cukela, Terry Williamson and Brad Criddle (Geraldton) will play Max Lancaster, Luke Miguel, Gerald Cashmore and Irwin Andrews (Beacon) in the first semi final while James Jaworski, Ashley Grundy, Murray Hasson and Barrie Bywater (Toodyay) will take on Dean Tinley, Eric McCarthy, Barry Matthews and Alan Cowie (Mandurah).
In the Pairs competition James Jaworski and Ashley Grundy (Toodyay) will be looking to have a long day with the chance to take home two titles. Late this afternoon they defeated Michael Ford and Jim Taylor (Geraldton) 16-5 in the first semi final. First up tomorrow Craig Greenham and Wayne Maher (Koorda) will play John Davidson and Fred Early (Wagin) for the remaining place in the final.
