Women’s APIA Over 60’s Triples Crown
Played Friday 7th March 2014 The Bedford Bowling Club was the stage for two legends of Women’s Bowls in Australia to lead their teams into the final of the Women’s APIA Over 60’s State Triples. The team of Lee Poletti, Kerry Andersen and Vicki Spragg (Composite) made their way into the final with a solid win over Audrey Stokes, Helen Thurston and Alison Buckingham (Mosman Park). Not to be outdone, Roma Dunn, Julie Lindsay and Peg Currie was also stylish in their defeat of June Edwards, Barbara Hadley and Colette Smith (Mt Pleasant).
With both teams in great form the final promised to be a close affair, however as the game went on the Poletti combination had all the answers and ran away with a 23-12 victory to take the 2013-14 title.
