Champion of Champions Results
Women’s Singles, Novice Singles and Men’s Pairs Three Bowls WA Champion of Champions Events were completed over the weekend. Afternoon and overnight rain made the greens a bit slower but it didn’t stop the cream from rising to the top.
Noelene Abe (Corrigin) once again claimed the Champion of Champion Singles at Yokine Bowling Club making it her third straight victory in this event and her 5th title overall. She defeated good friend Kerry Andersen (Mosman Park) in the final.
The Men’s Champion of Champion Pairs was won by the Manning pair of Blake Nairn and Frank Carbone at Sorrento Bowling Club. After surviving some very close knock out rounds they proved far too good in the final for Kwinana rivals B Clayton and S Spinks winning the final comfortably 21-6. The Kwinana pair had proven to be giant killers in the event defeating some very handy sides to advance to the final.
The Women’s Novice Champion of Champion Singles has been won by Charmaine Locke from Mundaring who looks to be a bowler with a future. In the final at Morley Bowling Club she defeated Olwyn Griffiths from Mt Lawley 21-9.
