Bowls WA Country Club of the Year Volunteers are helping Dudley Park to reap rewards as reported by Frank Curro of the Mandurah Mail yesterday.
The Dudley Park Bowling and Recreation Club has recently won and been nominated for a string of awards.
The Club has been named the Best Large Country Club in Western Australia by Bowls WA.
Elizabeth Allen, 17, also claimed the Roma Dunn Medal for the best female bowler less than 18 years of age in the state.
The club has also been nominated for the Best Club Members Night (Medium) and the Best Club TAB Award at the 2015 Clubs WA Awards for Excellence on June 13.
Allen is also up for the Junior Amateur Sportsperson of the Year while Keith and Linda Cannon are up for the Volunteer Contribution Award.
Club President Peter Urich said it comes down to the hard-working volunteers who work at the club, some for four to five days per week. “We are all pretty proud of course” he said.
“A lot of credit has to go to the volunteers; we are a volunteer-based club.”
“There is just a good feeling about the club.”
The season has just been completed with the men taking out the four premierships and ladies were runner-up in two.
