Third time lucky for Adelaide Endurance

by admin on July 3, 2015

The third instalment of the revolutionary Australian Premier League is gearing up as franchises begin to reveal their illustrious 2015 line-ups.

The latest team to announce their side to do battle at Pine Rivers in November is last year’s finalist the Messenger News Adelaide Endurance who have named arguably their strongest line up in APL history.

Messenger News Adelaide Endurance have stuck with their winning formula, choosing to select within South Australia, and why not when you have three of the hottest names in bowls gracing the greens in their state.

After finishing second in APL01 behind the inaugural champions XXXX Brisbane Gold and losing the APL02 final to newcomers the Murray Steamers; Adelaide Endurance have brought out their big guns for APL03 in order to get their hands on the prestigious trophy and the $40,000 top prize.

Max Kleinig is having a week to remember after being named in the 10 men Australian Jackaroos Squad and now has answered the call from Adelaide Endurance to bolster what is already the most consistent performing franchise from the first two instalments of the $110,000 APL.

Kleinig, the current South Australian male bowler of the year, has been a steady performer over many years for SA and will now make his APL debut alongside SA’s most experienced campaigners.

Fellow Australian Jackaroo and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Wayne Ruediger is ready to do battle for a third time at Club Pine Rivers when he steps out once more for his home towns franchise live on Fox Sports.

APL01 Player of the Tournament Scott Thulborn will once again join the men in red; the inform South Australian star is the current SA state singles champion, Australian champion of champion singles winner and most recently skipped his South Australian team mates to a maiden Australian Open fours title.

Thulborn has been the danger man for the Messenger News Adelaide Endurance and will be expected to impress once more on the greens he has become so accustomed too over the past two years.

If there was a year the Messenger News Adelaide Endurance was going to claim the spoils, 2015 might just be it according to their newly appointed Coach and former Adelaide Endurance representative Mark Haines.

“I’m very excited to be working with three of not only South Australia’s best but Australia’s finest bowlers who are hungry to go one step further,” their new coach declared.

“Adelaide Endurance is striving for bigger and better things in APL03 after their fantastic results the last two years; I definitely think the team will give it a red hot crack and mix it with the best again this year.”

Bowls SA, the licensee for Adelaide Endurance, were keen to recognise the local talent on offer in SA and have always used home grown players during the Australian Premier League; as Mark Haines says the APL has gone a long way in developing bowls in his home state.

“SA players continue to get stronger and gain more respect after great performances in many events over the past year including last year’s APL, the Australian Sides Championships and more recently the 2015 Australian Open,” Haines said.

Mark Haines will be joined on the sideline by South Australia’s Director of Coaching Les Carter who will bring even more experienced to the Adelaide Endurance bench.

We look forward to seeing whether the Messenger News Adelaide Endurance can go one step further this year.
