Three rink proposal deferred for 12 months

At the Bowls Management Committee meeting held this morning, the committee unanimously accepted a recommendation from the Fixtures & Events Committee to defer a decision on the introduction of three rinks for Saturday men’s pennant for 12 months. 

The recommendation accepted was:
Due to the significant amount of discussion generated by our recommendation to change men’s Saturday pennant format to 3 rinks, the Fixtures and Events committee unanimously propose that the decision to accept or reject the recommendation be deferred for 12 months so that BWA and clubs have more time to  inform their members of the benefits and ramifications of the 3 rink proposal. This further consideration will ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the competition and bowlers alike.

At the time of the meeting written responses to the proposal had been received from 48 of the 66 metropolitan clubs (23 in favour of 3 rinks and 25 clubs against 3 rinks) as follows:
