State Coaches appointed

by admin on July 30, 2015

The Board of Bowls WA is pleased to announce that Therese Hastings and Tony Hockey have been appointed as the State Ladies and Men’s Coach respectively for the next two years.
Therese needs little introduction to bowlers having retired from state playing duties after the Yokine series after 140 games. Currently the National Training Centre Coach, Hastings has a wealth of experience on what is required to succeed at state level. Recently she was appointed to lead the Australian team to Hong Kong in November where Kristina Krstic will make her national debut alongside the legendary Karen Murphy.
Tony has well earned his appointment to the top job, having previously been Assistant Coach of the Ladies team in their Sides series win in 2010 and Assistant to Pieter Harris for the Men’s side for the past two years. Like Hastings, Hockey has achieved Bowls Australia Advanced Coaching accreditation and we look forward to their taking of the state reins immediately.
It is to be noted that Brian Jeppesen and Pieter Harris did not seek re-appointment and the Board thanks them sincerely for their contributions to our high performance area.
Interviews for the Selector’s positions continue with announcements to be made on these over the next fortnight.
