Men’s State Fours Sunday Knockout Results
Four teams remain in contention for the 2015-16 Men’s State Fours Championships
Scott Edmonds, Cody Packer, Jamie Edmonds, Phil Potts (Composite) started the day with a big assignment up against lasts years champions lead by Daniel Brown. After a hard fought contest Edmonds hung on for a 1 shot victory before defeating the highly fancied Manning team of Matthew Mitchell, Matthew Ayres, Allan Heal, David Downey (Manning) in the quarter finals.
Cambridge’s quartet of Clive Adams, Ross Bolton, Cliff Wooldridge and Ted Leahy made their way into the Semi Finals with two comfortable victories against Innaloo’s Paul Harber and Sorrento’s Ron Rogers.
On the other side of the draw former State Player Ross Dempsey is back in the swing of things by leading his North Beach team of John Coles, Gavin Crosthwaite, Joe McGinlay into the semi finals with a big win against Bassendean’s Justin Opie and then a classic one shot win against Sorrento’s Mick Martin, Ross Cunningham, Brian Lucas, Geoff Murray.
Facing Dempsey in the semi finals at Bassendean on Sunday 25th October will be State skip Matt Ellul with his composite team of Bill Brandsma, Corey Bessant, Alan Pryce. Ellul came through the knockout rounds with a win over Osborne Parks Over 60’s State Skip, Steve O’Neill and Manning’s Bruce Edwards.
