SilverSport – Over 60’s Funding

DSR pilot program SilverSport supports seniors aged 60 years and over to participate in sport and active recreation.
SilverSport will allow eligible seniors to apply for financial assistance to contribute towards sport club memberships or physical activity program fees of up to $200 per person* subject to available funding up until 30 June 2017.
SilverSport is pilot project and available from 1 July 2016 – 30 June 2017 through the following participating local governments:
·  City of Belmont
·  City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder
·  City of Kwinana
·  Shire of Northam.
Applicants
To be eligible to receive financial assistance through SilverSport, an applicant must:

be aged 60 years or older;
have a valid health care card or proof of age pension (pensioner concession card); and
be a current resident of the participating local government.

More information

Maximum of $200 is available per person during the SilverSport pilot (1 July 2016 – 30 June 2017).
Applicants can apply multiple times, subject to available funding (up to $200 per person).
SilverSport funding is only for the agreed season or program period.
No retrospective fees will be paid.
If uniform or equipment is included as part of the SilverSport provider fee structure then this can be covered by SilverSport (up to $100).
Uniform or equipment costs are subject to agreement with the local government you are applying to.
