Kerkow to play in WA

Kelvin Kerkow will represent South Perth in a Premier League Pennant match this season. One of the great’s of Australian bowls, current national selector and Commonwealth Games singles gold medallist Kelvin Kerkow OAM, will pull on the boots for a one off pennant game in Perth this season.
Kerkow who will be in Perth for several days conducting coaching clinics and demonstrations as an ambassador for Aero Bowls, has agreed to play a Friday night pennant game for the South Perth Millers on the evening of round two the 28th October. This will follow the club playing host to the demonstrations and clinic that afternoon.
Doubleview Bowling Club has agreed to take on the challenge in opposition and the match is expected to draw one of the biggest pennant crowds for many a year.
Kerkow who famously won Australia’s Commonwealth Games singles gold medal in Melbourne in 2006, before tearing his shirt off in celebration will be the highest profile player to have played pennant in WA for some time and will be a great promotional coup for the game early in the season.
