Knights riding high

Round 2 in Review (Men’s Edition) The Men’s Pennant Competition was a little gloomy for some in Round 2, and not just because of the clouds hanging around. However for others it would have felt like a bright sunny day as their sides had a belter.
Cambridge, know as the Knights, produced a mixed bag in Round 2 with three of its four pennant sides involved in their division’s biggest aggregate wins with both home teams on the positive side of the ledger. The Premier League side snared valuable points against Osborne Park with a somewhat modest margin of 23 when compared to the competition wide best 83 shots in Fourth Division. It wasn’t all positive however with their Fifth Division team going down to Joondalup who had a good 48 shot win in the three rink competition.
Mt Pleasant were also right amongst it with two division highest rink margins coming out of sides from Bedford Road. Steve Hughes lead Division One White with his rink’s 22 shot win a key part of what was also a division highest 29 shot aggregate victory for Mt Pleasant over Gosnells. In Fifth Division John Raynes’ side had a 24 shot win which was good enough to tie for the divisions best margin. Neither side was good enough to better South Perth’s Gordon Berryman and his Fourth Division team’s 36 shot win which was the week’s best.
