Willetton bring up a 50

Round 5 in review It was a very high scoring week in pennants with several four rink sides raising the bat by scoring more than a hundred shots. There was also a badge earned for the first time since in four weeks.
Men’s Saturday Competition
It was somewhat of an oddity in men’s pennants this week with the round’s biggest aggregate win coming from 5th Division. Despite having one less rink to boost the score with Joondalup 1 were comfortably the week’s biggest winners with a 79 shot win. Unsurprisingly they had the division’s best rink as well with Geoffrey Hay’s 32 shot win. The other two rinks won by 30 and 19. The biggest rink win across the competition came from Safety Bay’s 3rd Division side. John Biglin and his rink were victorious by a huge 41 shots. It made up the bulk of Safety Bay’s 48 shot win overall.

Women’s Tuesday Competition
This week’s biggest aggregate win is likely to stick around as one of the biggest all year. Willetton recorded a massive 85 shot win in 3rd Division on Tuesday in a terrifying display. All three rinks played their part but one in particular stood out. The week’s biggest rink winners were Margaret Strickland, Jill Tapper, Janice Plummer and Barbara Skipworth who won by a mammoth 47 shots. As you can probably guess they also earned themselves a 50 badge. It is the first 50 since round one and the first of the year in Women’s Tuesday Pennants.
In Premier League Gosnells have featured on the board for the second time in as many weeks. After a disappointing performance against Manning they rallied in convincing fashion. In one of the biggest week to week turn arounds for the year they won by 31 shots to be Premier League’s biggest win.
