Men’s 2nd Div and Under Results
2nd Div and Under Singles and Pairs Wrap The Men’s 2nd Division and Under Singles and Pairs events were played at Osborne Park Bowling Club over the Easter long weekend with the winners crowned late on Monday evening.
Following sectional play on Saturday (Singles) and Sunday (Pairs) knock-out rounds over the Monday for both events saw two worthy winners at the end of the day.
The singles title was won by 35 year old Swan bowler Phillip Park who is in just his third season and looks to have a bright future after some impressive wins to take the title. A 21-11 win over James Buchanan (Joondalup) was followed with an equally impressive 21-9 win over Les Onley (Leeming).
The Pairs final saw well known Yanchep combination of Leith Oldham and Shane Loftus take the final in a thrilling match against South Perth’s Troy Kinnane and Tom Antonio. Loftus who has previously played at Jurien Bay and Wanneroo Bowling Clubs in recent years has been a good acquisition at Yanchep and his experience came through in the final stages of a hard fought victory.
