Men’s State Trial Squad announced
The Bowls WA Men’s Selection Panel has announced the Trial Squad from which the Side will be picked to represent Western Australia at the 2018 Sides Series in Darwin.
The 2017 Side has been retained, with a number of past State players also selected. Dave Rankin (Doubleview – 82 games), Mark Simpson (Dudley Park -13 games), Charlie Slavich (Doubleview – 17 games) and Scott Walker (South Perth – 10 games) make up those with past state experience.
Those who would make their state debut if selected are Miles Kemp (Manning), Dale Marsland (Manning), Sean Mawdsley (Osborne Park), Beau Manton (Bassendean), Ryan Moyle (Doubleview), Anthony Williams (Manning), Blake Nairn (Bassendean) and the only country representative in Warren Holt (Wagin). Many of the new faces have performed strongly in state and masters events and/or the 2016/17 pennant season.
The initial Trial Squad will be reduced to a State Squad of 16 in early 2018. The Side will be selected and announced mid-March prior to the competition in May.
