Quinlan Under 18 Bowler of the Year

Rosenthal Medallist Medal winner Osborne Park’s Patrick Quinlan has claimed his second Rosenthal Medallist’s Medal as the Western Australia’s most outstanding player under 18.
Quinlan first won the award in 2015, a testament to his sustained success in the junior arena.
It comes courtesy of an impressive showing at the Under 18 State Championships held at Stirling in April.
Quinlan was the only player to make the final of all three events, which he won two of.
His most impressive performance was as a skipper in the triples where he and teammates Cory Day and Marcus Simpson won every game by at least seven shots, including a massive 21 shot win in the final.
He also won the pairs with Day by nine over Ashton Hagboom and Aiden McAuliffe who had been very good in the competition.
It was the singles that set Quinlan apart from his teammate Day as he made yet another final to finish the weekend.
Although he did not beat his opponent Jack East, the performance was enough to pull him clear of the competition as the player who clearly had the best weekend.
As Patrick was unable to attend the Bowls WA Awards Night last Friday, Clive Adams accepted the award on his behalf.
Adams described Quinlan as a talented and very respectful player and hoped he would stay with bowls despite interest in a number of sports.
Quinlan is part of the squad of juniors training for selection for the National Championships in Queensland at the start of next season.
