WA holds strong hand at International Deaf Championships

WA bowlers will hold a strong hand when the 8th International Deaf Bowls Championships is played at Burnside Bowling Club, Christchurch NZ from the 5th-13th January 2019.

Flying out on December 31st the Australian side which consists of five male representatives and five females representatives plus two reserves includes WA players Kate Leese (Binningup), Greg Strachan (Gosnells), David Ravlich (Cockburn) and John Ravlich (Cockburn) along with Anne Jeavons (Glen Forrest) who is the team manager for the Australian side for the fourth time. The team was selected following the Australian Championships at Dudley Park Bowling Club in

The Men’s teams will compete in singles, pairs, triples and fours against the hosts New Zealand, along with Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The Women’s team playing the same disciplines compete against New Zealand, Scotland and Wales.

Bowls Australia has been supported the team with uniforms and WADRA has given a small donation to each of the WA players.
