Extreme Heat notice for weekend bowls

The following timelines and considerations in regard to Extreme Heat, will be conducted for Saturday 19th January 2019 and Sunday 20th January 2019

Saturday Ladies Pennant 19th January 2019

In line with the Women’s Tuesday and Saturday Pennant Competition Conditions of Play

13.1     General Abandonment

To be read in conjunction with Metropolitan Pennant Competition General Conditions of Play

General Abandonment- Heat

(i)         If the temperature forecast is 38° C or over all pennant games shall be cancelled at 5.00pm the day before the scheduled pennant fixture.

(ii)        Notification of a General Abandonment will be placed on the Bowls WA Website

 

Saturday Men’s Pennant 19th January 2019

A General Abandonment is not being considered at this stage considering the current forecast however if required it would be considered and communicated as per Women’s Pennant Procedures at 5.00pm the day before the scheduled pennant fixture

 

Women’s State Singles Sunday 20th January 2019

The forecast temperature for Sunday will be monitored at 8.00am on Saturday 19th January and if the decision is made to postpone the event the following arrangements will be put into place

The Ladies Sectional Day will be postponed until the following Sunday 27th January when the Knockout Rounds were due to occur and then play the Knockout Rounds on the Monday Finals Day. Venues will be contacted regarding availability and venues may change the following week. Notices will be published accordingly.

The Finals will then be postponed until a date to be advised, but no doubt a Sunday down the track with plenty of notice.

 

Men’s State Singles Sunday 20th January 2019

A postponement is not being considered at this stage however a final evaluation will take place at 8.00am Saturday morning.
