Hopetoun Ladies Classic Results

On 24th & 25th January Hopetoun held their Ladies Classic Fours Competition with 18 teams participating with players coming from Esperance, Scaddan, Condingup, Ravensthorpe, Kalgoorlie, Boulder, Westonia, Newdegate, Corrigin, Kulin, Kalgarin, Dudley Park, Joondalup, Gnowangerup , Mt Barker, and Albany.

The players were greeted with very windy conditions on Thursday however the weather improved on Friday. The Main Sponsors for the event was Horizon Power who donated the winners and placegetters prizes. Generous Rink wins were sponsored by Ravensthorpe Bulk Haulage, Wayne and Debbie Daw, Hopetoun Painting Services, Lance Goddard, Hopetoun Tyre Services, Bub and Mary McGlinn, Hopetoun C.W.A., Margot Hawkins, O D Transport and Craig King who contributed to the event along with numerous donations given by members for the many raffles we held over the two days. A big thank you to Sias Jordaan from Ray White Real Estate for donating two raffle prizes of accommodation packages in Floreat Park.

Many thanks to all our members and non members who helped out in any way to make the Classic such a success Di Chambers for the place mats and to Dene Bingham for the use of her photographs for these. Trix Boyd and Pam Cousins who manned the raffle table. Captain and vice captain Coral Grant and Margot Hawkins. April Barr our Catering Officer and her band of great helpers so many compliments about the food. The men who helped with the washing up ,bar staff Nathalie and Alan Grant and Darryl Quinn. A big thank you especially to Alan he seemed to be there 24 hours with his help. You are too many to thank individually but a great big accolade from the Committee.

After playing four games of 10 ends on Thursday and two games of 12 ends on Friday it came down to who were the successful winners with the following teams getting prizes with the winners receiving a Horizon Power gift bag and prize money.

Congratulations to the following teams including the winners who were undefeated. Donna Gibson, Horizon Power representative from Esperance, presented the prizes.

2nd May Kiddle, Mary Welstead, Maureen Heberle, Karen Dye Gnowangerup 15 pts +48

3rd Trish Stone Judy Patterson, Marg Vandenburgh, Lyn Ietto, sub Jeannette Sounis Scaddan 15pts +24

4th Jan Jefferis Jenny Martin, Joan Ward, Dulcie Treeby Emu Point 13 pts +34.

In addition the team from Hopetoun/Kulin won the quiz plus cards were drawn by Donna for a Horizon Power tote pack Lead Denise Edwards Ravensthorpe, 2nd Leslie Downsborough Westonia, 3rd Colleen Haynes Albany, Skip Jan Feigert Esperance.
