Every Club Program Courses – February

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries will be running courses for coaches, officials and committee members as part of the Every Club program which will run through to June 2019. These specially designed training workshops will improve skills and knowledge on key topics as well as where to access information.

Three courses are being delivered in the Perth Metropolitan Area in February 2019 and clubs are encouraged to participate in the courses as they are beneficial in providing assistance to the management of clubs in WA.

Managing Conflict and Difficult People (Face to Face Workshop) –
19th February
Designed for coaches, officials and committee members this workshop will develop skills to better prevent and manage conflict and difficult people.

The course will:

  • Identify conflict in its early stages before it erupts into crisis
  • Prevent conflict arising in the first place
  • Use verbal strategies and body language to diffuse conflict
  • Ask the one question that could stop conflict immediately
  • Dealing with conflict on social media

How to Run My Club (Face to Face Workshop) –
20th February 2019
The workshop is designed for anyone in your club that assists in the effective and efficient operations of your sport or recreation club and who is committed to improving the organisation and how it does things.

The workshop will cover the following:

  • What is your key roles, responsibilities as a committee member (club present in this)
  • Understand the constitution and how it can assist operations
  • How to develop policies and procedures to guide club operations
  • How can we recruit and retain committee members
  • How to conduct efficient and effective meetings

How to Run My Club (Webinar) –
27th February 2019
The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is offering a webinar that will assist in the effective and efficient operations of your sport or recreation club and who is committed to improving the organisation and how it does things.

A webinar is a seminar or presentation that takes place on the internet and allows participants in different locations, through their computers or iPad to see and hear the presenter, ask questions on a designated topic.

The webinar will cover the following:

  • What is your key roles, responsibilities as a committee member (club present in this)
  • Understand the constitution and how it can assist operations
  • How to develop policies and procedures to guide club operations
  • How can we recruit and retain committee members
  • How to conduct efficient and effective meetings
