Success Story at Forrestfield & Districts

The Forrestfield and Districts Bowling Club recently hosted their local member for Forrestfield, Stephen Price and the Premier Mark McGowan to show off all their hard work they put in to their club after receiving funding. With the help of Stephen Price, the City of Kalamunda, the Bendigo Bank Forrestfield/High Wycombe, their sponsors and most importantly their members, the club was able to have a complete overhaul of their A Green. Thanks to everyone involved the club was able to lay a new synthetic green, upgrade the surrounds, lay brick paths, build fences and walls, revamp chairs and plant a memorial rose garden, and is looking fantastic. Volunteers from the club were essential in getting the job done and provide hours and hours of their own time to give back to their club in whatever way they could.

Forrestfield Members celebrate the refurbishment of A Green with Premier Mark McGowan and their local member for Forrestfield, Stephen Price.

This is a great story of a community coming and working together to achieve something great that benefits the club and the community attracting new comers and old comers. A great statement made by the club really highlights what makes a good bowling club, “good bowlers are silver, but good members are gold”. This reminds us that bowling clubs aren’t always about the bowls and that they are a community within themselves and it takes everyone to create a great community and club.

Well done to the Forrestfield & Districts Bowling Club for an awesome job and great community spirit, everyone who comes to your club will be able to see all your hard work and enjoy the new green.
