Women’s Country v Metro: Teams Announced
The traditional curtain raiser to Women’s Country Week will take place this year at the new Cockburn Bowling & Recreation Club located at 40 Birchley Road in Yangebup on Sunday 24th March.
The day will start with the Presidents 12 v State Side game at 9 am for 18 ends. A special guest player will be Karen Murphy – this will ensure a rapt audience! The Presidents game is followed by lunch and hat presentations and then the Country v Metro game of 21 ends over 12 rinks .
Each Country Zone has put forward three teams for a total of twelve teams to battle twelve Metro teams that are a combination of State Players and other Players of Distinction within the Metro Bowling Scene.
The Country Selectors have picked some new faces to make their debut in a hope to challenge the Metro Side which boosts plenty of fire power with plenty of big names taking to the greens.
