Cockburn Bowling Club Embracing Sunday Sessions

With the bowls season nearing its closure, the Cockburn Bowling and Recreation Club has already kicked started its social season by embracing the Sunday Session.

Sundays are considered a day to relax, unwind and have a couple of cheeky drinks with friends. Unique to the Perth bar scene is the ‘Sunday Session’ or ‘Sesh’. This happens across the city from around 3pm,-9pm generally in clubs and pubs, and now at the Cockburn Bowling and Recreation Club.

The last ‘Sesh’ run on Sunday 31st March was a fundraiser hosted by the Storm Hooters with all funds raised going to research for women’s cancer. The afternoon included raffles, games, kids soccer for $5, live music, and barefoot bowls. For $20 individuals enjoyed bowls hire and instruction, a middy of beer or glass of wine, and a shared taster plate or individual meal.

Embracing this concept is a great way to get people and the community through the doors and enlighten those of different generations of what you can gain when you are part of a bowling club.

The Cockburn Bowling and Recreation Club is using what they have and creating a place to be, a community hub and getting people through its doors.
