Bowls WA’s best announced

The best achievers in bowls for the 2018/19 season were crowned at the Annual Awards Night held at the Crown Entertainment Complex Friday May 24th. This glittering occasion saw a number of clubs, players, officials and volunteers recognised for their efforts with plenty of cheers and celebrations had through out the night. Rod Wishart was inducted as the 40th member in the Bowls WA Hall of Fame accepted by his son Graeme Wishart who is also a member of the Hall of Fame. The Jim Sullivan Medal for 200 games for WA to Kyle McIlroy along with medals for the State Singles winners Kristina Krstic and Blake Butler (accepted by Laura Merz).

A highlight of the night was Krstina Krstic winning back to back Women’s bowler of the Year Awards, Daniel Trewhella was crowned the male bowler of the year with Justin Smith and Noelene Abe winning the Country Bowlers of the Year. Congratulations to Mosman Park, Sorrento, Gnowangerup and Northam were took out Club of the Year Awards. Willie Tan (Warnbro) was recognised as the Club Coach of the Year and Keith Bowden (Fremantle) as the Volunteer of the Year. Jack East was crowned Under 18 Bowler of the Year.
