Schraner to lead Perth Suns

by Aaron Delaporte on July 16, 2019

Recently retired Australian Jackaroo Lee Schraner (37) will lead the November Perth Suns assault on BPL#10.

Schraner as Australian Cap #132 has already had a remarkable career, with no doubt plenty more to come. The current Australian Singles Champion of Champions will represent Australia in the World Champion of Champions event in Adelaide this year, having won Bronze in the same event in 2018.

With a bowling resume that includes 61 club titles, 40 group titles, 18 state titles, 14 national and 1 international title and having represented Victoria and Tasmania a combined 297 times, Schraner will add plenty of grunt to the Suns in Pine Rivers.

Joining Schraner will be another debutante in our own Cody Packer. Packer had a strong Australian Sides Series in April where he skippered his rink to a number of top quality performances and his past experience as a quality leader in the Sides Series will stand him in good stead for the cut-throat competition.

Upon confirmation from her European vacation the team will be rounded out by Jackaroo Kristina Krstic, who needs no introduction after another very fine local and national season in 18/19. The reigning WA ladies bowler of the year excels in this format and is consistently in the top performers – male or female.

Packer and Krstic will continue to provide the WA flavor to the team, with Schraner adding that required “X” factor.

The team will again be managed by Pieter Harris no stranger to the event, having played for and managed the team now on several occasions.
