2019 WA Senior Men’s Side Selected
After a trial weekend at Innaloo Bowling Club, the Senior Men’s Selection Panel of Roger Barns, Geoff Whyatt and Brian Burton have chosen the following Side of three Teams to play in the National Senior Sides Series being held at Ettalong Bowling Club in New South Wales between October 21st to 24th:
Following last year’s side composition shake-up, this year is similar with Gordon King returning with Cap # 25 after a very successful 2019 winning the State Over 60s Singles Championships and being crowned Over 60s Bowler of the Year!
Along with a returning King two new country players have been selected to debut in their first National Seniors Side Series with John Goddard {Hopetoun} achieving Cap # 53 and Gary Keep {Collie} achieving Cap # 54.
The new selections both add proven talent to the Side as Gary won the State Over 60s Singles Championships in 2018 whilst John progressed from Open State Representation, having previously played 170 games for WA, and has a proven record including winning the Men’s State Singles in 2008.
The high quality of performance at Selection trials made Side Selection very difficult, the WA players should be a power house at this year’s National Side Series.
