Western Australia has five representatives playing in the event looking to join Dennis Katunarich who is the only WA winner of this event way back in 1992.

Australian Jackaroo Kristina Krstic is the best credentialed WA chance and will be looking to continue her good form after taking out the recent Moama Ladies Premier Pairs Classic with Ellen Ryan. Kristina faces NSW player Jessica Srisamruaybai in her first game, with the potential in her second to play either six-time winner Karen Murphy or WA’s own Julianne Summers.

Belmont City’s Julianne Summers has been given a tough challenge when she faces Karen Murphy in her first game. In a tough section with the winner of this match up possibly playing Kristina, Julianne will have to give it everything she has. No matter what the outcome, Julianne will be doing WA and herself proud in her inaugural national appearance.

Doubleview player and former State representative Charlie Slavich is looking to make the most of the opportunity coming up. Facing NSW veteran John Bain in his first game, if Charlie is able to hit his best form he will make it comfortably into the Quarter Finals. The Quarter Finals is where Charlie would face his biggest challenge possibly coming up against Australian Jackaroo Ben Twist. An inform Charlie has every chance to make it far in this event.

Ross Pringle from Kalamunda Bowling Club caused some upsets making it through a tough WA qualifying draw, he has already made his club proud in making it through to take on the best at Tweed Heads and will be showing them all some good old WA fight. Ross faces Queenslander Bradley Lawson and will play defending champion Aaron Teys if both of them make it through the first section.

Last but certainly not least is the experienced but still young Osborne Park player Blake Nairn. Blake will be looking to show what he’s got on the big stage and will play Tailor Appleby from NSW in his first game. He has a high chance of making it all the way through to the finals. As a former State Singles champion he has all the shots including a deadly drive which he is so well known for. The Semi-Finals is where his greatest challenge will come from especially if Aaron Teys awaits having drawn in the opposing quarter of the field. One thing is for sure, Blake will not go quietly and will put his mark on the competition.

Bowls WA and all those in the bowls community wish each and every player the best of luck. Show them what WA is made of!
