Extreme Heat Forecast

by Aaron Delaporte on December 11, 2019

With the very high temperatures forecast for the balance of this week, clubs are reminded of their responsibilities as per the Bowls WA Pennant Conditions of Play and specifically the Procedure in Extreme Weather.

The relevant Conditions of Play are Rule (8.2 – Pg 23) and Rule (13 – Pg 39) of the Bowls WA Handbook, which deal with Individual Abandonment, Delayed or Interrupted Games for Extreme Weather.

These MUST be followed by the appointed Home Team Umpire of the Day and where requested information shared with the Visiting Team Manager.

Failure to adhere to these Conditions of Play will ensure significant penalties being imposed on the Home Club.

Any decision taken to ABANDON the round of fixtures will be communicated as soon as able on the Bowls WA website (see Rule 8.1 – Page 23) of the Handbook. At this time both Thursday and Saturday pennant rounds are on.

Clubs and members should also familiarise themselves with the Bowls WA Extreme Weather Policy
