2019 WA State Team

2020 State Squad Announced

by Denise McMillan

The Chair of the Western Australian State Selection Panel, Ross Dempsey, and his fellow selectors are pleased to announce the invited players who will make up the 2020 Men’s and Women’s State Squad.

All available 2019 team members have been invited to continue in the squad with the exception of two ladies who have made themselves unavailable.

Special mentions go to Linda Warburton who has decided to concentrate on trying to make the Over 60’s Ladies State Team, while also continuing her involvement as the WA State Academy Coach and Under 18 Selector. The selectors would also like to thank Robyn Jolly who is looking to take some time out and do some travelling over the winter months so is unable to commit to what is required before the National Side Series takes place on the Gold Coast in October 2020.

All invited players will receive an email asking they confirm their involvement in the 2020 State Squad. If you are a player on the list and you do not get the email please contact Pieter Harris on email pieter@bowlswa.com.au as we may need to update your contact details.

The first event for the Men will be the annual Metro v Country match-up to be held at the Osborne Park Bowling Club on Thursday evening the 27th February. While the ladies will compete in their Metro v Country at a yet to be decided venue on Sunday 22nd March.

The first official training session is scheduled for Sunday 29th March, with both the Men and Women at the same venue. Further dates and information on these sessions will be sent to all players upon their confirmation.
