by Kaitlin Tyrrell on August 26, 2020

North Perth Bowling Club held their Inaugural Charity 4s Carnival on Sunday Aug 23rd. The event aimed to raise funds for Beyond Blue, and thanks to the support of Sponsors, players, and associates, the club has raised an amazing figure of over $10,000.

The player’s entry fees, minus a $5 donation per person, were all paid out in prize money, with Terry from Marathon Mortgages covering the round prizes. The large sum for charity was raised by a variety of other methods, including but not limited to; online donations from club supporters and sponsors, via (still taking donations), raffles populated with prizes from generous sponsors, auctions of a $500 golf package and $2000 worth of legal fees/conveyancing, all of the proceeds from a donated keg of MVP from Nail Brewing, and over $500 of donations from the floor to see North Perth player Milton Mavrick get his luscious locks shaved off (he ended up raising over $1000).

The Club Patron and member for Perth, John Carey MLA, was on hand to talk about the importance of mental health in these strange times of COVID-19, and praised the evident community spirit.Onto the results:
