The use of Laser Measures in WA
After discussion with the Bowls WA Chair of Umpires Mike Goble-Garratt and consideration by the Bowls Management Committee, the decision has been taken to not permit laser measures to be used in Bowls WA events (i.e. pennant and state championships).
Approvals currently vary depending on the type of measure and relevant authority with Bowls Australia recently approving the use of the Crackajack model at state and territory level (if agreed by the relevant state and territory) but unusually not for their own Bowls Australia events.
Bowls WA has therefore followed this direction where we are the controlling body HOWEVER clubs may decide to use them at club championships, carnivals, gala days etc. if they so desire.
