Nairn claims Mixed Masters win
The opening event in the Dyenamic Masters Series was completed yesterday with the Trevors Carpets Mixed Masters Fours. Being played for just the second time a strong field of 32 teams took to the greens at Sorrrento Bowling Club on Sunday 27th September with 3 rounds of sectional play to narrow the field to eight finalists.
In a tough day with a couple of rain delays it was the composite side of Blake Nairn (Cambridge), Brad Gillingham (North Beach0, Shari Solly (Osborne Park) and Lee Bunney (North Beach) who claimed the trophy and the major share of the $8,000 prizemoney on offer.
Nairn’s team proved just a touch too good for a local side skippered by Shane Loftus in the final winning 15-10. Teams skipped by Cody Packer and Willie Te Pania were the beaten semi finalists.
