Freo mariners up and running

The new Fremantle club is now up and running under the umbrella of the Fremantle Park Sport and Community Centre. A decade in the making the state of the art club will be a great addition to the facilities available to not only Bowls WA for state level events, but the sport in general.

Housed with the Fremantle Lawn Tennis Club and Fremantle Workers Social and Leisure Club the two storey facility covers two large bar areas, with one upstairs commanding great balcony views of the new 8-rink sand filled synthetic green and surrounds. Great lighting will likely see a push for night pennant matches to add to the corporate and barefoot bowls offerings.

Fortunately, the club held its One Blue South side in the Challenge Finals, which will be added to a full contingent of four Saturday and Thursday midweek teams – and a growing ladies contingent.

The club is pleased to note their upstairs restaurant is open from Thursday to Saturday evenings, with a Sunday roast also served – a small café on the ground floor catches passing trade.

Bowls WA looks forward of taking advantage of the new facility as we start cranking up the 2020/2021 season.
