Australian Masters Games 2021 – EOI host club(s)

by Aaron Delaporte on October 16, 2020

The Australian Masters Games will be held in Perth in the week commencing Saturday 9th October 2021 and culminating in the closing ceremony on Saturday 16th October 2021.

Bowls WA is seeking any Expressions of Interest from clubs to host the bowls section of the event in that time period. The promotional material put out by Games organisers is as follows:

THE EVENT

The 18th Edition of the Australian Masters Games will be held in Perth in 2021. This will be the second time the city has hosted the event (the first was in 1993) and is expected to attract over 7,000 participants competing across 50 different sports.

The event is open to anyone, providing the minimum age requirements are met, which for most sports is 30 years and over. There are no qualifying standards so competitors of all abilities are encouraged to participate.

The Games encourages a positive, active lifestyle, with an emphasis on social engagement, health and wellbeing. With such a wide range of sports on offer, including individual and team sports, there is a sport for everyone. So whether you’re into Beach Volleyball or Bocce, Golf or Gymnastics, why not have a go?

However, it’s not all about the sports – the Australian Masters Games also hosts a variety of events including an Opening and Closing Ceremony, as well as a mid-week party. Information on entertainment acts will be provided closer to the event date, and posted here and on our Facebook page.

The event (usually a combination of singles, pairs and mixed pairs) is managed by the respective host club under the direction of the Games Committee.

Full documentation is available for clubs to consider although an initial discussion with myself or your Regional Bowls Manager is encouraged.
