Over 60’s State selection news
The selectors for the Men’s and Women’s Over 60’s State Team have chosen to incorporate a revised selection strategy for the 2020 State Team selection process.
During the season, teams will be selected to trial against various other BWA squads including the Open State Squad and Academy Squad.
Over 60’s players may be selected for one or multiple games throughout the season as selectors trial different players in different positions before the final team will be selected.
The first trial date will be on the afternoon of Sunday 31st January when both a Men’s and Women’s Over 60’s trial team will be up against members of the Open Men’s and Women’s State Squad.
Please note non selection in the first trial game does not mean you are not being considered for the team, as other trial opportunities will be held during the season.
For any player who may have recently turned 60 or will turn Over 60 by 1st October 2021 and is interested in being considered for the Over 60’s State Teams, should send their names to pieter@bowlswa.com.au so they may be passed onto the selectors. A resume is not required as the selectors will be doing their own homework on eligible players throughout the season.
