Australian Open 2021 – WA Update #3

by Kaitlin Tyrrell on June 21, 2021

The 2021 Australian Open is nearing the final stages of all disciplines. Check out the program below to see the progress of the competition and each of the disciplines.

Kristina Krstic, Lisa Featherby, Jonathon Davidson and Blake Nairn had terrific singles runs through to the knockout stages. Davidson who hails from Albany was the surprise packet of the WA contingent progressing to the quarter finals before he was halted by Australian Jackaroo Barrie Lester 3-21. Likewise Kristina had a great run also making it to the Quarter Finals, her run unfortunately stopped by fellow Jackaroo superstar Natasha Van Eldik finishing 6-21. Blake and Lisa finished in R16 with Blake coming up against legend Aron Sherrif going down 13-21 and Lisa going down 11-21 to Colleen Orr from the Northern Territory. A terrific effort by our WA contingent in the singles who did WA proud making it so far in a tough competition in such a talented field.
