Willetton Host Bowls Blitz

Rounds 9-12 of the Bowls Blitz tournament is set to take place on Sunday 11th July at the Willetton Bowling Club. Round 9 will be starting at 9.00 am, with the day rounding out with the completion of round 12 finishing at 4.15 pm.

With only two rounds remaining after Sunday, all teams will be trying to cement a place in the top four to ease the pressure going into the final two rounds on Sunday 8th August.

The Blooms The Chemist Stars continue to sit atop the ladder but teams are closing in after the last set of rounds at the Kardinya Bowling Club. With so many points available over the final six rounds, even eighth-placed Liquor Traders Pirates have plenty of points available to make a charge up the ladder.

Round 9 at Willetton will see the day start with three sets of pairs playing 2 x 4 x 2. With both players required to both lead and skip during the game, players are going to have to show some flexibility in their shot play.

First up sees the eighth-placed fourth-placed Liquor Traders Pirates taking on the fourth-placed Senior Recreation Council Sharpshooters. Pirate Captain Dave Rankin will be firing the team up after sliding down the ladder on Day 2. While Lisa Featherby’s Sharpshooters had a solid day 2 and moving into the top four. Lisa will be motivating her team to continue their rise up the ladder

Liquor Traders Pirates versus Senior Recreation Council Sharpshooters full fixtures

Fifth-placed Henselite Enforcers had an up and down Day 2 and found themselves sliding out of the top four. Captain Cody Packer will be looking to inspire his team back into finals contention in their fixture against ladder leaders Blooms The Chemist Stars. Stars Captain Kristina Krstic will have other ideas as she returns to the team after missing day 2, to make the Stars even stronger.

The Dyenamic Cyclones had a big day 2 to fly up the ladder into second position. Captain Clive Adams will be ensuring they continue to work hard to hold their position when they play the Variety – The Childrens Charity Chargers. Chargers Captain Bill Brandsma had a big hand in seeing the Chargers get off the bottom of the ladder after Day 1 and into sixth position and only a few points off the pace after Day 2.

The final fixture sees the seventh placed BCiB Blitz take on the third placed Trophy Warehouse Pinnacles. Blitz Captain Laura Merz will need to get the Blitz into the winning mood as they try to make up some points to move into the final four calculations. chargers Captain John Slavich has had his team purring along at a solid pace as they maintained their position on the ladder from day 1 to the conclusion of day 2
