Bowls Link to aid clubs with Covid policy
Published 7th January 2022
Bowls WA is able to offer clubs the ability to record the vaccination status of volunteers and members through the Bowls Link system.
As such a Bowls Link support document has been provided to all WA Affiliated clubs.
Bowls Link Support adding Vaccination status of volunteers and members
Bowls WA recognises that clubs are currently not mandated to record sighting of vaccination certificates except for hospitality workers (bar and kitchen) and in some circumstances volunteers.
However, with the impending border opening and the State Government’s WA Safe Transition plan scheduled for February 5th recording of vaccination status may become required for participants. Under this scenario there will be a requirement to register them in Bowls Link for our sport to be compliant in ensuring only vaccinated players participate in competitions under the control of Bowls WA such as pennant, country week and state championships.
Clubs are recommended not to keep a record or upload a copy of a members vaccination certificate (unless they are a critical hospitality worker) as they may be in breach of the Privacy Act.
Members must consent to showing their vaccination certificate or medical exemption.
