New Strategic Plan on the horizon

by Aaron Delaporte on June 14, 2022

Bowls WA continues to work towards the preparation of its 2022-2024 Strategic Plan.

Having engaged McLaughlin Sports Consultancy to guide the development of the plan, clubs and members have already had the opportunity to contribute with an e-survey collecting valuable views in March 2022.

In early May, the next step of the process was a “Jam Session” lead by McLaughlin and attended by a mix of Bowls WA Board and Committee members, Bowls WA and Bowls Australia staff as well as players who expressed an interest in participating.

The session was held online via Microsoft Teams, taking advantage of virtual breakout rooms to enable focused discussion and ideas to be developed. Attendees explored key questions typical in every strategic plan, the why we are here, the what do we offer, the where is it we need to go and how is it we are going to get there.

The draft plan is now currently in the drafting process and on track for release towards July. It is hoped that the release of the plan will be used as a tool in the review and development of Club level strategic planning, which should now be on the agenda for clubs as the off season takes hold.

With that in mind, a timely reminder that the Bowls WA Club Resource Guide and Bowls Regional Managers are available to help clubs through their own strategic planning exercises.
