Mt Lawley to host Friday Night Premier League

by Aaron Delaporte on November 3, 2022

Mount Lawley Bowling Club will host the first Friday Night Premier League match for the 2022-23 season when they host last years runners-up South Perth in Round 2 of The Professionals Metropolitan Pennant competition.

Returning the top grade for the first time in over 60 years the Mounters have built a strong team of players who climbed from second division just a few years ago to now be mixing it at top level. Home grown Australian Fours champions Masel, Einfeld, Graham and Sinden plus former State Representatives Bessant, Jones and Lander who they have recruited along with the home ground advantage under the impressive newly installed greens and lights should give Mount Lawley cause for optimism despite an opening round loss to Doubleview.

Likewise South Perth will be looking to bounce back after a surprise first round loss at home to Osborne Park. They have a wealth of experience with Opie, Pauling, Bresland and Brown as there skippers. 13yo Callum Alberti will also be one to watch as one of the youngest ever to play Premier League in Western Australia.

Play will commence from 6.30pm with food available and of course full bar facilities for spectators.

The rink draw is as follows
