BOWLS 4 LIFE event thrives!
Big success for Mandurah Bowling & Recreation Club (MBRC) for their ‘Bowls 4 Life’ Program.
As part of the Bowls WA Club Grant program the Bowls 4 Life event at Mandurah Bowling Club was held on the 11th of November and demonstrated the brilliance in the Bowls community.
The program consisted of a One-day event to encourage local community members to participate in one of the most accessible sports. It began with a discussion conducted by an Exercise Physiologist from ‘4 Life Physiotherapy Mandurah’ which was followed by a light exercise program like the Bowls Australia Program “Roll back the clock”.
After basic instructions and etiquette of the game were provided by MBRC Members the participants played a game of bowls similar to the “Jack Attack” form of Lawn Bowls.
Towards the end of the day, a light lunch was provided alongside a short talk about membership options at MBRC.
Great feedback was received from the 30+ Participants that enrolled and took part in the event. A significant amount of club members were involved from planning to running the event on the day. As a result, the club received five new members and six enrolled in the coaching program.
Neil Richardson, who organised and applied for the grant had this to say:
“One of the most pleasing aspects of the Program was that after the session people who previously had not met put teams together for our Night Owl Community Bowls competition “
This a great example of the Bowls community bringing people together and one of many events being held in WA Bowling Clubs under the Club Grants program.
