High Performance Positions open

by Aaron Clark on December 8, 2022

At the end of the recent National Side Series, all the WA State Coaches and Selectors appointment terms came to an end. The Bowls WA Board would like to thank all those High Performance Volunteers for their commitment to the High Performance Program and their dedication to the WA State Players, Squad Members and Developing players over the last couple of years.

As per requirements, Bowls WA is now advertising for the following High Performance Positions

Chair of the State Selection Panel
As the Chair, you will be responsible in overseeing and co-ordinating the selection of all Bowls WA Teams and Squads, including the Open Side, Over 60’s Side, and Under 18’s Side. You will also work in conjunction with the BWA Academy Coach and BWA Talent Manager to ensure the next group of State Players are being identified, educated and nurtured in the Bowls WA Academy.

State Open Coach x 2
BWA are looking for both a Men’s and Women’s State Coach to develop programs to enhance our players skills and push for a National Sides Title. You will also need to work closely with the BWA Academy Coach to identify future squad members and identify strengths and weaknesses in players so the Academy Coach can put together appropriate coaching plans. Each coach is also part of the selection panel for both the Men’s and Women’s teams, so must be able to work closely with the rest of the selection panel to choose the best teams possible

State Selectors x 2
As a selector, you will be responsible for attending events and training sessions as required. In conjunction with fellow selectors and the coaches, you will be required to provide feedback for players when requested and select the best team possible to represent Western Australia.

Bowls WA Academy Coach
This is a terrific opportunity for a coach to shape the future of players stepping up to State level bowls. In conjunction with fellow selectors and coaches, you will need to be able to identify and take responsibility for the upskilling of future players for all WA State Squads. You will need to be able to provide a varied program that will take into consideration the possible differing development levels of the players within the Academy. You will need to be able to provide honest feedback both verbal and written to players in the Academy and players expressing interest in being in the Academy.

Those considering any of these positions should take the time to read the relevant job description before completing the Application Form.

Bowls WA will be advertising for the available Under 18 and Over 60’s positions in the new year

If you have a passion for helping players through coaching or selecting, Bowls WA encourages you strongly to throw your hat into the ring
