Kristina Krstic contender for WA Sports Star Award
The SportWest awards are Western Australia’s Premier sports awards, annually athletes can win the Sport Star award which is consider one of the most prestigious sporting award in WA.
The award was first presented to Morna Pearce in 1956 and many WA’s Sports people have won the award since.
Our very own Kristina Krstic is a contender for the title being listed in the 12 WA Sports Star Finalists.
Below is an extract from SportsWest Sport Star Finalists Biographies in relation to Krstic:
“Placing her name in the West Australian Bowls History books, Kristina Krstic claimed Gold in the Lawn Bowls Women’s Pairs at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. This Gold Medal was the first Gold Medal won by a West Australian Lawn Bowler since 1982 and only the 2nd ever won by a West Australian. Her performances over the past year has set her apart from any other WA representative.”
The sports award is expected to be celebrated at Optus Stadium this Thursday 23rd February with hopes that Kristina can claim the title against strong contenders with just as exceptional achievements for WA.
