Bayswater win Women’s Friday Night Pennant
The Professionals Women’s Friday Night Pennant season came to an end on Friday March 10th with Bayswater Bowling Club taking the grand final over a gallant Manning.
The Women’s Friday Night Competition is unique in that it is designed for working women and is restricted to a maximum of two first division players. This helps keep a level playing field and gives newer bowlers a chance to be introduced into competitive matches whilst maintaining a strong social connection amongst the clubs and players.
Bayswater have always been a strong team in this competition have now won the flag on seven occasions. They had another magnificent year losing just one match across 14 weeks of competition.
The final was a close affair however the rink skippered by Frances Winship was able to finish strongly giving the host club a three shot victory 27-23 in a low scoring match.
